There are several adventure travel destinations in Africa, but there is only one Tanzania. Here one will find the vast plains of the Serengeti, the unique Ngorongoro Crater, the snows of Kilimanjaro and the mystic isle of Zanzibar, all different faces of Africa, in one country. Tanzania unites many different tribes, one of the largest and most famous being the Masai people.
Some of the worlds most famous National Parks and Game Reserves are found here : the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara NP, Tarangire NP, Selous Game Reserve, Ruaha NP. Nowhere in the world will you see wildebeest, gazelle, zebra and antelope in such enormous numbers. Tanzania's characteristic plains make spotting wildlife easy. The world of Jane Goodall's chimpanzees can be explored in Gombe and Mahale NP.
An almost perfectly shaped volcano which rises from the plains, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the African continent's most magnificient sights. Snow-capped and not yet extinct, at 5895m it is the highest peak in Africa.
The very name Zanzibar conjures up exotic and romantic images. A jewel in tranquil coral waters of the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar is one of the world's most beautiful islands.
